Established in 2004, M Capital is a South African-based private equity firm focused exclusively on the property sector in Southern Africa.

M Capital is considered unique for the following reasons:

M Capital is a joint venture between the Cape Town based CMC Property Group (www.cmcgroup.co.za) and London-based Hibridge Capital (www.hbcap.com) .

The CMC Property Group provides a commercial related financial and investment service to property developers and investors on a national basis, catering for all their property finance and investment requirements. The group processes property transactions worth circa ZAR2,0 billion per annum and through their vast property network provides a steady flow of quality deals for consideration by the M Capital Investment Committee.

Hibridge Capital is a “private” investment office providing investment in alternative assets and emerging markets as well as corporate advisory services. Since 2003, Hibridge has had exposure to emerging markets and alternative assets of in excess of ZAR570,0 million and has been involved in advisory transactions valued at in excess of ZAR1,0 billion.

Hibridge Capital is the primary source of capital for investment in the various M Capital transactions.

The founders of Hibridge Capital generally invest their own capital in these ventures, thereby ensuring alignment between their interests, and the interests of their clients.
Hibridge Capital clients include:

• High Net Worth Individuals seeking exposure to non traditional investment or owners of private companies requiring corporate advice,
• Companies whose requirements fall below the level of qualification at traditional investment banks, or
• Institutions seeking exposure to either alternative asset classes, or to emerging markets

Rather than being burdened by excess capital, M Capital prefers to raise funds for specific investment opportunities.
